Breakfast
is the most important meal of the day, but it should also be a simple
meal. When you are counting the calories stay away from muffins, doughnuts,
and other "quick fix" breakfast items. If time is short, it
is better to have two pieces of whole grain lightly buttered toast and
a cup of coffee than nothing.
To
keep your calories in check and help you from over doing it without realizing
it, always opt for dressings, gravy and any sauces to be "on the
side" when eating out. Most restaurants also offer smaller portions
if you ask. If smaller portions are not possible, ask for a doggy bag
in advance, and always put at least 1/4th of your meal in it before you
eat.
