How is the winning website selected, you ask?
By YOU, the viewing public, in combination with a panel of "celebrity" judges. We encourage anyone and everyone to check out and vote for each site entered in each round. Here's how it works:
Once all the sites are designed and ready for viewing, the design phase of the round ends and the judging begins. The public, that's YOU, and the celebrity panel then have a week to cast their votes. Here's how the votes are tallied:
- The public votes for each site using a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest score. The winner of the popular vote is the entry that accumulates the most points.
- The celebrity panel also chooses and ranks each entry.
- The popular vote counts for 60% of the overall score, the celebrity panel the rest.
What makes a good site?
When judging an entry, first look to see how well the designer adhered to the round requirements [link to current round page], then let your whim and whimsy guide your choice. Our celebrity panel is comprised of web developers, sponsors and other industry professionals. However, one of the panelists will include a WebRing Tech, who will pay particular attention to the quality and efficiency of each entry's source code.
