    Well done contestants!

  • Iron WebMaster Round 4

    Here's Your Fourth Challenge:
    Hit The Road

    General Guidelines
No feeling quite compares to the thrill of travel. Whether a quick trip to the nearest lake for some sun and fun or jet setting around the globe, you can't beat the adventure of hitting the road.

Your challenge for this round is to create your choice of a single page or a website with up to three pages that will make us want to pack our bags and set out on an adventure. Likely topics include:

    • Gear Guides
    • Photojournals
    • Travel Stories
    • Packing Tips
    • Guided Tours
    • Off the Beaten Path
    • Favorite Destinations
    • Discount Vacation Packages
Remember, these are just suggestions. You can approach this challenge from any perspective, from simply sharing your vacation photos to designing your site with a "client" in mind, say a company that leads a pub music tour through the United Kingdom or a travel agency.

Oh, yeah! For those of you who have found our allotted file size just a touch too limiting, we are now allowing you to use far more server space than ever before. So, think slideshows, videos and interactive maps.

    Specs
Here are the specific requirements for your Hit The Road entry:

    • Limit your entry to no more than 3 pages.
    • If you choose to enter a multi-page website, each page must contain distinctly different content.
    • Maximum space you can use, including images, is 30Mb.
    • Name your photos descriptively and make sure to place them close to content that reflects the picture.
    • Include some way on your entry for future site visitors to comment, sign a guestbook or contact you.
    • Include the word "travel" at least twice on each page but careful not to overdo it. The page name counts as one.
    • Gathering and creatively presenting pre-existing ideas and products in a fresh way is acceptable, as long as the content is free of copyright restrictions. Just remember to credit your source.
    • You need to insert the comment <!--iwmround4--> in your HTML within the <body>...</body> portion of each page. We suggest at the bottom. This will be replaced with voting and navigation code when the design phase ends and voting begins (The approximate size of the generated code is 500x70 - about like a banner ad.)
    • The design phase ends March 7, 3:00 PM PST. Late entries will be accepted, with a penalty.
    • External links are allowed in this round. Be carefull though! If you lead someone away it is always nice if you can lead them back as well.
    • Upload your files at ftp.ironwebmaster.com. Use your Iron WebMaster ID and password to access the site.
    • Create a new folder under public_html, IWM4, to store your website. Your website will be found at
http://www.ironwebmaster.com/~IWMID/IWM4/filename (replace the IWMID with your ID, and filename with the name of your initial webpage).
Go get started and Go Green!
